Fire.

Hello Everyone,
Today began with some unexpected excitement without much tragedy. While Melissa was taking Christopher to daycare she noticed this fire and came back and we all ventured forward to find the Hydro building on fire. fortunately it was just the office, and didn't effect service to the community, also everyone was relieved it wasn't a residence and no one was hurt or worse in the fire. It did take out all the phones on our street, so we are officially incommunicado. We also lost Internet for a couple of hours but things appear to be operating well now. So overall it was a pretty good fire, no one lost their home, no one will lose their job, the fire didn't damage any other buildings and the kids got a day off school. The school and the daycare were downwind of the fire so neither opened today. Anyways, picture speak a thousand words, so they can tell the story.

Wow... lucky no one got hurt and that it was(relatively) warm. A few years ago, a building caught fire in Edmonton and it was so cold the water from the pumper truck was freezing in mid air. Quite the sight to see!

Actually in the one photo, you can see that the water has frozen and started to blow away with the wind. Thats probably why the building was a write-off.

That certainly looks like a very hot fire. I was glad to hear that no one was injured.

We had not heard from you for some time and were beginning to wonder what was happening.

I noticed recently that you still show pics on your blog from Dec. 06 and was wondering if you were taking them down any time soon. Us neanderthals that still have to endure dial up, are left waiting for countless minutes waiting for them all to download. (my gripe for the day)

Our weather has been rather odd lately. A system has stalled over parts of the lower lakes and we have gently falling snow, but with temps above freezing, it was actually quite pleasant. I guess it's coming to an end by late tonight or tomorrow as they are now warning us of freezing rain etc. I guess March will be coming in like a lion - oh yeah!!

I hope all is well in your world and that things are improving. Donna and I keep trying to imagine what some of your problems might be and I must say, we have quite a vivid imagination.

Take care - good to hear from you again. -- Rosalie

LOL... I guess I should wear my glasses when I read your blog! I tried finding the picture from Edmonon but to no avail. I'll check and see if my mom has one still and get her to send it to me.
